This Happy Breed has been going since about 1990 or so, with one change in the line-up. That change, I think everyone will agree, was for the better. But then I would say that as that was when I joined the band!

We are a four piece band - Ashley on drums, Paul on lead guitar, Andy on vocals and rhythm guitar and me, Clare, on bass. But as I've already mentioned, it hasn't always been like that. My brother played bass for the first 6 or 7 years and when he moved to Ireland I took his place.

We mostly play covers, but we have been known to write the odd song. Most of the band come from Milton Keynes and so most of our gigs are around that area. We play rocky-poppy sort of music.

Ashley, Paul and Andy have been in a band together since 1983 under various names - The Take, 24 Hours and Another Day. With lots of stories to tell, as they keep reminiscing every Monday down the pub!

Paul(middle), Ashley(right) and Andy(left) when they were 24 Hours.....and yes, Paul was proud of his jumper!!
Andy(left), Ashley(2nd left) and Paul(middle) in their "rock star" pose! (Don't they look mean and moody?!?!)

The longest self-penned song was Falling Like The Reign which was 5 and a half minutes long. The shortest self-penned song (or longest depending on how drunk Paul is) is Wom Diddy Diddy.

We've had good gigs and bad gigs where the pub was over-run by skinheads and the band were waiting for the police to turn up while hurriedly learning any song requested! We've also done international tours.....well, we played a gig in Ireland!!

Everyone remembers a bad or good gig. Paul has played with a broken ankle and Ash has fallen down the stairs - and they were the good ones! Andy has been on Stars In Their Eyes, although he was beaten by Patsy Cline. He will always be a winner in his Mum's eyes!
